Suggest Treatment For Stomach Bloating And Diarrhea

I m a 56 year old male and hopefully in good health with a healthy lifestyle and good diet, non smoker and very light drinker. Last summer I had gastroenteritis or I guess some kind of food poisoning. A couple of days of diarrhoea followed by a week of bloating and slightly yellowish stools. This all appeared to clear up after a couple of weeks or so and all back to normal. On and off since then I have had a rumbling stomach and trapped wind. The rumbling is normally in the morning and then occasionally after my evening meal. I can feel the rumbling and wind on the right hand side of my abdomen. A bit of a tummy massage and the wind clears. I have started taking a course of probiotics which has certainly reduced the symptoms and I am also cutting out milk to see if that helps. I also get an ache under my right ribs when sitting for long periods of time ... no pain when active. I m regular and stools look normal and no stomach cramps. The probiotics have made a difference and I have taken some activated charcoal tablets (one after an evening meal for the last couple of days) ... it slowly seems to be getting better but I would really like to clear up the trouble all together as it has been going on for a few months. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Dear patient, I really think you are on the good way with probiotics (if possible I'd suggest Bioflor between them) and activated charcoal tablets sometimes, but don't forget that time is the best healer and probably you should still be more patient for a while.
