Hi,
Aspirin is used to treat and prevent heart attacks, strokes and many more by protecting the blood from clotting. It can also be used to reduce fever,
muscle pain, toothache, headache, arthritis etc. Side effects of Aspirin are
stomach cramps, diarrhea, dark brown urine, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, heartburn, gastrointestinal ulcerations, headache,
drowsiness, bloody or tarry stools, coughing up blood or vomit, ringing in the ears, confusion,
hallucinations, rapid breathing, seizures,
dizziness, unexplained tiredness and weakness, easily bleeding or bruising, allergic reactions etc.
If these side effects persist for long or bother you, then you should inform your doctor first. Despite having side effects, you should not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. If you take Aspirin according to your doctor's recommended dose, then the regular use of Aspirin doesn't increase the risk of kidney damage in patients with normally functioning kidneys.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General And Family Physician
