Hi, I have Bern feeling bloated lately, (a few weeks now) haven t gone to the toilet for a five or six days, started feeling slightly sharp pains in my stomach every now and then, but just went to the toilet and my poo was like this black tar and after flushing, the water turned all green. I have not been on medication nor had any green foods lately. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a stomach ulcer. The black stool is usually related bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract.

I suggest you do an endoscopy to confirm the diagnosis and take further treatment.

Meanwhile, you can also take antacids to relieve the stomach pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
