Suggest Treatment For Stomach Pain With No Bowel Moment
Have a 21 year old grandson who is diabetic. Several weeks ago he went to his family doctor because he did not feel well. He was given a shot for pneumonia and a tetanus shot as well. 2 days after that he got serve pains in his stomach and has moved his bowels very little since. He would move his bowels twice a day. He has been in and out of the hospital 3 times in two weeks one being the Hershey Medical Center in PA. They thought it was his appendix so they removed it and he still has the pain in his stomach and has not gone the bathroom for a couple of weeks. They have given him laxatives and several things orally but is not helping. They listen to his intestines and they said they can hear movement and stomach is still soft. He came home yesterday and today he is unable to eat, his blood sugar is high and heart is beating fast. HELP!
Hi,welcome to healthcare magic, pl get an ultra sonography done,do hospitalise him. You may consider getting a second opinion, but foremost control his sugar levels and I may suggest an enema atleast To start with, Considering his diabetes, gastroparesis is a definite suspect... May consider using a motility enhancer eg.levosulpiride
Hope this helps
