Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been told to rest my voice as much as possible from ENT. I have strained my vocal cords. It s been almost impossible to rest my voice during the day as my job is working with young children. I ve tried just resting it out of work hours but it doesn t seem to help a lot. My voice had started to come back but has now completely gone. Is there anything else I can do to rest my voice further without it interfering with my job?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Rest is the best medicine for strained vocal cords, as has been advised. Slowly you will get back your voice, and hence, you should not worry much. You can take decongestant syrup and do salt water gargling to ease oedema and congestion which is present, so that it would help you in recovery soon. All the best and wish you speedy recovery.
