Suggest Treatment For Strange Pulsating Sensation On Side Of Head
I have been having strange pulsating on the left side of my head around my temple for months now. It doesn t feel like it s a heart beat or anything, it s just an extremely fast uncomfortable tapping kind of feeling, and it only happens occaisionally. I can feel it on the outside if I put my hand on it. Could this be anything serious?
Strange pulsating headache on one side of the head is commonly due to temporal arteritis (inflammation of temporal arteritis), migraine or low pressure headache. This type of headaches are treated with acetaminophen (tylenol), naproxen(aleve), counselling, exercise, healthy diet and stress management.
Stay well hydrated, avoid anxiety and stress, cut on addictions if any, take food in time and avoid excessive exposure in sunlight. You are suggested to get clinically examined to rule out any major pathology causing you discomfort. Your treating doctor may want CT, MRI done. Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
