Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was bitten by a stray dog in year 1993 and i got a course of 3 injections. I am told that it should be minimum 6 or 5 - is that true? If yes, should i go for the full course now? From past few years i have some numbness in my thigh of the same leg for which i got a MRI done but everything seems normal. Could this be related? Appreciate your help.
HI Well come to HCM There are certain conditions as long as the rabies is concern, if the dog has got rabies then it is very important to complete the full course of immunization, if the dog is not infected then prophylactic shot would be enough, now no need to start vaccination, numbness could be due to something else and not because of dog bite, hope this information helps, take care.
