My two year old daughter was diagnosed with strep throat and she had a pus pocket on her tonsills, doctors gave her amoxicillin and follow up showed no improvement, switched to amox-clav her diahhrea was expected but it now has turned black and her whole diaper area is red raw and hurting her is this something I should go to the ER for or wait for urgent care in the morning?
The symptoms of daughter seem to be related to a haemorrhage not the upper gastrointestinal tract. I recommend you to go to the emergency room for further evaluation. A complete blood count and a stool test should be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
