Suggest Treatment For Stress And Excessive PMS

Hi, I experience PMDD (severe PMS). I am due to take part in an extremely stressful process (which can t be changed) in court in a month and have realised that I am due on during the process. Is there anything I can take to delay PMS? I have heard that taking Norethisterone can delay menstruation, but would it delay PMS or might it make it worse? Thanks

Hello,

You are in stress. You want to delay your periods. Taking Norethisterone is a temporary solution and cannot be used for long term basis. If you intend to have sex while taking the medicine, you’ll need to use another form of contraceptive device or pill or a condom to prevent pregnancy. Norethisterone is commonly prescribed as three tablets a day, starting three to four days before you expect your period to begin.

Once you stop taking the medicine, your period should begin within two to three days. Take the tablets at the same time every day. They cannot be doubled up on, if forgotten. The medicine works best if you are in good health. The effectiveness of norethindrone relies on your period being regular. Stay away from addictions if any. Avoid anxiety & stress( both physical and emotional).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

Norethisterone contains progesterone, a female natural sex hormone that is used in the treatment of various menstrual problems like painful, prolonged or heavy periods, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, premenstrual syndrome or PMS etc. Again, some women may experience mood swings, breast tenderness, fatigue, headache, sweating etc, 1-2 week before their normal menstrual periods and these unpleasant symptoms are known as premenstrual syndrome or PMS.
Severe symptoms of PMS are associated with falling levels of progesterone hormone. So progesterone can delay both menstrual cycle as well as the symptoms of PMS and reduce the symptoms of PMS by preventing falling levels of progesterone. But you should not start taking progesterone like
Norethisterone without consulting your prescribing doctor first.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
