Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have RA & Angina and have had a heart attack in the last year also have fibro, suffer with migraines and insomnia, the doctors ran tests and said I have severe stress problems which caused angina and heart attack and panic attacks, chest pains, I am never happy because I have been feeling bad for the last 2 years all the time. They put me on Zoloft, Prozac, neurontin,Cymbalta, temazepam, lipitor, and nifediac. The only thing improved is I don't cry anymore and my arms and legs do not ache. So whats up?
Dear User, If I were to treat tour depression and panic attacks, I would have used single antidepressant i.e. either Zoloft (100-150 mg/day) or Prozac (40-60 mg/day) and not both of them as you are receiving now. This is as per most of standard guidelines for treatment of anxiety and depression. I would have continued one of them for long going by chronic course (2 yrs). Discuss about this with your treating doctor. Dr. Sudhir Mahajan
