Suggest Treatment For Stringy Diarrhea Like Stools In An Infant
My almost 6month old has had stringy, yellow, diarrhea like poop for the past 3-5 days. She s been on amox-clav since tues evening, steroid breathing treatments for RSV. Along with the poop, she doesn t seem to be sounding better when she coughs and isn t eating much. Should I take her back in to the dr? Or wait until the antibiotics is finished? Please help! I just want my baby to feel better! :( -sad mommy

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of stringy diarrhea like stools. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like food intolerance , food allergy , bacterial or viral infection , parasitic infection or inflammatory bowel disease. Need not to worry. You should take plenty of fluids to re-hydrate. Take diet rich in fibres as well. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like ornidazole , albendazole , omeprazole along with loperamide. For now eat light and non spicy , eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana. Take diet rich in multivitamins and avoid any oily sharp and fast food.
