Suggest Treatment For Strong Ammonia Odor, Respiratory And Sinus Cold

I recently caught a respiratory and sinus cold and is all but gone and yesterday while eating a sandwich with dill pickles on it I had to spit it out due to the awful strong taste and or smell of ammonia, it happened again twice today while eating food with jalapenos and then on a hamburger with ketchup, 59 & healthy, never had this happen before, got me worried. Lots of stuff on the internet about kidney disease and the smell of ammonia, thanks for any info on this!

Hi,

Some foods can produce this smell [high protein, heavy drink] sinusitis. If you have any symptoms [nausea, appetite related, abdominal pain] then its bacterial infection H.pylori [have simple tablet treatment]. Urinary tract [if pain or burning in urinating, pelvic pain, fever etc], to involve kidneys it needs [many symptoms like dizziness, swelling, rashes, itching, pain short breath].

Avoid those foods, brush and use mint/basil. If any above symptoms are there then definitely go to physician needs some simple lab tests and all above mention are easily treated. Psychological or stress anxiety if develops [join online breathing exercise like art of living happiness programme ombw have no side effects]. Don't directly start any anxiety/antidepressants drugs.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
