Suggest Treatment For Stuck Fish Oil Capsule Inside Throat

Hi there, very worried the fish oil capsule I took went down the wrong way! I have been coughing since last night, although have had bronchitis 3 weeks ago (where I was bringing up sputum). I feel a bit of pressure in the top of my chest, just under my sternal notch. But this morning I've coughed a fair bit and felt quite paranoid I'm going to give myself pneumonia. But surely I would have coughed heaps yesterday if the pill went down the wrong way right? The pill just felt like it was struggling to go down.

hello there,

please do not worry. The Paths for swallowing and breathing have a little valve called the epiglottis in your throat. nothing that you swallow can go beyond this otherwise the body's survival instinct kicks in and you have choking like feeling and violent cough. What must have happened is the pill being large to swallow would have irritated your food pipe. You can have a banana to eat and this would get rid of the stuck feeling,
