Suggest Treatment For Stuffiness In Head And Chest
I went to Urgent care a couple days ago with a cold. I have stuffiness in my head and chest. no fever not a lot of cough. I was prescribed Promethazine-codeine for cough take 5ml/ every 6 hrs as needed. Also Azelastine-fluticasone 137.50 mcg spray 1 spray each nostril 2/day. generic not available brand name Dymista, also Azlthromycin Z-pak 250mg tab. I am not on any medication and when reading dymista it advised not to take any medication with codeine. Please explain regarding the interaction with the medication I ve been prescribed.
Azelastine is an antihistamine which means that there is a potential risk of drowsiness, dizziness. Since codeine can also cause drowsiness, dizziness, these medications are generally not used together to reduce the risk of these symptoms occurring.
I hope this helps
