Suggest Treatment For Stuffy Ears After Sore Throat And Running Nose

Yes I have had stopped up ears for the past 6 weeks, I started out with a mild sore throat back in late March and a low grade of fever, some sneezing, but hardly any nose running, that weekend ears stopped up and have not opened since. Was told that I need to get hearing aids this morning. I am only 50 years of age, please give me your honest answer, I am going for a second opinion on Monday afternoon.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to sore throat with chronic sinusitis. For that you may require complete hemogram, throat swab after ENT consultation. You may require antibiotics after consultation. Till then you can continue saline or betadine gargles twice a day. Take steam inhalation. Keep your self hydrated. Use humidifier.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
