Suggest Treatment For Sty On Top Of The Eyelid

Hi doctor, ive had a sty on my top eye lid for 5 days now the swelling is sore and red now and seems more painful. Ive been putting a warm compress on my eyelid but it the swelling does not seem to reduce. I am now feeling strain a bit in the other eye and I have also noticed a small swelling in front of my ear (same side as sty eye) and a swelling just beneath my ear (same side as sty). Im now worried that there may be another underlying issue. Can you please advise?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If your condition actually is a stye, and if it isn't reducing with a warm compress, a course of antibiotic eye drops is highly recommended. However, since you will need a prescription, getting yourself evaluated by an ophthalmologist is my advice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. NIKITHA R, General & Family Physician
