Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have been suffering left knee pain for the last 5 months and an MRI shows a small subcortical cyst in the proximal tibia, at the level of the medial pallofemerol joint. I m wondering what this Means and how this can be treated? Thank you :) Holly
Welcome and Thanks for being here. I can well understand ur concerns.
If a bone cyst is discovered but is not causing any pain or showing signs of further development I Usually monitor it closely through x-rays and leave untreated. But, If it is determined that a bone cysts requires treatment; surgery, or radiation will be used. And for that I refer the patient to Orthopaedic surgery. Only an orthopaedic specialist is equipped to properly diagnose and outline an effective bone cyst treatment plan. Hit helpful. Give feedback. Thanks Dr Hanif Philadelphia, PA USA
