On 2 occassions my 68 year old sister has got up in the morning with a black eye and a swollen ankle with no apparent trauma or cause. Today she has experienced sudden memory loss which has resulted in a hospital admission. Have you any idea what could be going on please. Thanks
Hi, Thanks for writing here. Your sister seems to have cerebral ischaemia due to block in any of the cerebral vessels the details of which will be available when your treating doctor will do investigations like CT head or MRI. This may be usually as a complication due to presence of other age related diseases like hypertension, diabetes etc.
With regards, Dr.Akash Jain.
