I have loss of weight of six kilos , night sweats for three weeks and relapsing fevers . I had no recent travel and my chest X-rays did not show any tuberculosis. My doctor who did a screen found that I had a raised urinary beta2 micro globulin 0.44 (0.03-0.3) and also raised thyroid autoantibodies. My complete blood count and tumor markers were all normal . He feels that I could have autoimmune thyroiditis although he said my overall thyroid function was normal. He mentioned that the possibility of amyloidosis or multiple myeloma could not be excluded and recommends futher tests such as ultrasound of the thyroid, kidneys and a bone marrow biopsy. Do u have other suggestions?
