Suggest Treatment For Swallowing Difficulty When Diagnosed With Esophagitis

I was diagnosed with an erosive esophagus. because of the acid reflux I had, the opening between my esophagus and stomach developed scar tissue and the opening narrowed. I seem to have a problem with food not going into my stomach but instead it feels like it sits under my rib cage and I have a lot of discomfort and pressure from it.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can treat the discomfort and the pressure by taking anti acid medicines regularly. This problem is complicated and you need to see a local doctor to follow you up until you heal.
But also keep in mind things that may help like eat small meals but frequently, do not eat spicy foods, keep the head of your bed slightly elevated, etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Dr. Papaqako
