Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Breathing Problem In A Diabetic Patient Undergoing Dialysis

Hi, My father(Dr Bhubaneswar MOndal) age - 68 yrs was a diabetic and hypertension patient for the last 8 yrs. Recently he was suffering from swelling throughout his body and had breathing problem as well. He was admitted in SSKM hospital,kolkata under Doctor Abheejit Tarafderon 12 Nov 2010. He had undergone 5 dialysis and doctor adviced for twice a week dialysis. Presently he had undergone 16 dialysis. The current blood report dated 11/01/2011 are as follows. Blood suger fasting - 98 Blood Urea - 95 Blood creatine - 4.8 Na+ - 138 K+ - 4.3 Please let me know wat can be done

Diabetologist 's  Response
as per the reports he is suffering from CKD(Chronic kidney disease). Anaemia is the most common differential diagnosis. Also ECHO is advised to rule out any heart failure or cardiomyopathy(uraemic). To find out the cause XRay Chest, Echo CBC should ideally be done.
