Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Bruises On Chin

Hello......slipped on ice in March, hard large swelling and bruising on chin.....applied ice for several days, and still have a small knot present, and skin is discolored in a reddish tone.....had a viral ultrasound a few weeks after initial injury....no clotting.....skin appeared to be dried out thinking it was from DIRECT application of plastic ice bags.......have since been applying Aveeno, Gold Bond, Cocoa Butter, and Aloe Vera gel......skin less dry but past few weeks location has been red and area seems to be warm at times......Also taking Furosemide due to swelling of legs and swelling has subsided, but bruising is still apparent and protruding lump from injury still present......any suggestions appreciated !!!

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, currently you are having infection of the wound site as its warm and red. You need to consult your GP as you might need topical antibiotics for this.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
