General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your husband seem to be related to an ear infection. The swelling and redness is probably related to the ear infection. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. I also suggest using an ear drop with antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
