General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
You should see ann orthopedic surgeon urgently. After needful blood counts and MRI. The cause of the nonhealing abscess following bursitis would be exactly known. Specific treatment would then be offered to you which can range from drainage of abscess along with antibiotic &antibiotic treatment with rehabilitation of the joint. Extreme cases may need joint surgery...to help you out.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
