I got stung by a bee yesterday morning and my finger is hurting really bad. I can t really bend it at all. 3 knuckles as well as the finger I got stung on are really swollen. My finger is numb. I took a couple antihistamines yesterday and today and nothing helped. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

If you have access to a medical center or clinic then please do visit them. at times the bee sting can result in the sharp object from the bee's tail being lodged within the skin or subcutaneous layer resulting in possible infections or abscess development.

Along with adequate care and antibiotic coverage, a more effect anti-histamine will also be prescribed.

Best wishes.
