Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain In The Knee

in the last week i started to have swollen and very painful knee pain the right side worse then the left. Im having a very hard time walking. First i should tell you that i had breast cancer and im going thur chem which has sideeffects that i get treated for as they come and just finised an antibiotic levofloxacin 750mg. and now i having knee problems. I had an ultra sound done on both knees to rule out blood clogs, that came back good . I also had x-rays done and results for the left says moderate osteoarthritic changes left khee most pronounced within the medial joint space. the right says moderate osteoarthritic changes and moderate-sized joint effusion. My oncologist ordered theses test i havent talk to my reg doctor yet. what i want to know is if this is temporary due to my treatment or is this something new larenda_shumate@yahoo .com

Hi,

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI to rule out possible causes like joint effusion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
