Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain On The Wrist After A Spider Bite

I believe I got bit by a spider on Friday..it s now Tuesday. I ve had a red bump on my wrist that s swollen since Saturday...it aches . It doesn t really itch anymore and it hasn t gotten bigger and there s no puss coming out. It s still jus swollen and aches..especially by the end of the day because I probably hit it against something. Should I see a doctor or let it take its course and heal? How long does it take to heal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The swelling and pain are probably related to the bite and also the injury. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication to relieve the pain.

I also suggest using cold compresses for local application and elevated the wrist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
