Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Soreness In Shin After Injury

I was breaking down some pallets and missed the crowbar with the hammer. Unfortunately, my shin received the blow. It has been really sore but I can walk fine. If I sit for a while, especially with my leg hanging down, the first few steps when I walk are painful. But after that, not so much. It is swollen some. Not much bruising. I just want to be sure I don t have a blood clot. It does ache sometimes when I am just sitting. But it is not excruciating pain. I did this about a week and a half ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Shin of tibia is not a place where blood clot collects. No subcutaneous space is there. There must be some swelling due to oedema which wil subside once you take rest with your leg elevated.
