Hi I was recently in an induced coma. Today I had an MRI and it showed that I had swelling around some of the arteries. I am nervous about it and I m on a waiting list to see a neurologist. They don t know the exact cause. Can you please give me some advice.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, there are multiple parameters which need to be co related with the swelling around arteries as:
- Basic pathology for which the induced coma was obtained
- Type of inducing agent, duration of action with side effect profile
- Current symptoms and clinical findings
- MRI plates evaluation
- associated comorbid conditions if any

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
