Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Forehead, vomiting And Nose Bleed After Head Injury

hi my husband is not good with blood so he had a small cut but it seemed deep and saw that and just in a couple of seconds he blacked out and fell but he landed on his side but ended up hitting his right side of the forehead just above his right eyebrow. it was swollen a bit.soon after he got up he started feeling week and felt nauseous and vomitted afterwards couple of times. apart from that bits od blood clots came out from either his mouth or nose but i think it might have been his nose. it has stopped but i dont know it i need to consult a doctor or his injured tissues would heal in a couple of days.i would appreciate it if i could get more info on this

Neurologist, Surgical 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. Your husband had fall following which he had head injury, vomiting, bleed from mouth or nose, small loss of consciousness.
All these features are suggestive of significant head injury.

you must consult doctor or ER urgently. Your husband needs CT head to rule out any significant brain or skull bone injury. CT head will rule out any fracture or bleed.
Treatment of such case might be
: Conservative of patient is conscious, oriented and responding to medication
: Surgical if large size bleed, patient deteriorates or headache not relieves by medication.

My advise to you is
: Don't sit at home and consult ER as soon as possible.
: In case of vomiting, turn his head on one side to avoid aspiration
: Do not give any sedating painkiller

Hope it will help you. Thanks. Take care.
