Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Gums And Bad Breath In Infant
Hi my 11 month old had 4 upper teeth a week ago and about 5 days ago her gums have swelled so much that those too 4 are no longer showing. She also has bad breath sensitivity and one little sore in her tongue. We took her to the hospital and they said she has gingivitis and to give her penicillin. But I just received a call back from the pediatrics and without telling that doctor her symptoms she said that it is highly unlikely my daughter would have gingivitis and to not give her the antibiotics. I need another opinion.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....
As per your complain it seems that your daughter is having gum hypertrophy alonv with Halitosis or bad breath.. It does not seems like bacterial infection but can be due to certain other conditions like Scurvy or Vitamin C deficiency, leukemia , poisoning with certain chemicals, side effects of certain medication that you might be taking which are secreting in milk.. I would suggest you to consult a Pedodontist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and investigations like Blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done according to the cause..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
