Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Ankles And Feet
I have gained almost 30 pounds in 4 months, after maintaining my weight for several years. Now my ankles and feet are swelling, could this be related? I am on Arimedex (estrogen blocker) since April of 2015 when I completed chemo for breast cancer metasticized to bone. Oncologists tell me weight gain is related to meds, but wondering now that I have swelling (just started this past weekend).
Swelling is a possible rare side effect of Arimedex and should be considered as a possible cause of the swelling in your case. There are other causes of leg swelling as well so it is important that you talk with your doctor and have an examination to rule out the liver, the kidneys and the heart as a possible cause of the swelling. Some tests might be needed like ECG, heart ultrasound, ALT, AST, albumin level, creatinine and electrolytes, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
