Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Arm While On Phenergan

My husband was bitten by something on his arm on Tuesday afternoon which made his arm and hand swell. He consulted a Dr who prescribed Phenergan and Antibiotics. This morning there is no improvement and swelling may have increased slightly. Should he wait to see his GP again today or head to a hospital?

Hello,

He has to take tetanus toxoid and antibiotics. May need an antihistamine to reduce local allergic reaction. Use antibiotics to prevent secondary infection. Keep an eye for to rule out snake bite or a scorpion sting.

Please consult your physician if swelling not reduced or increased in size. He will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
