Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The swelling is due to inflammation, fluid retention due to overweight or venous insufficiency due to sprain & injury. Compression with support stockings will be of help but do not wear tight ones as it will cut off circulation, take rest & keep your ankle & legs elevated on 1-2 pillows. Sometimes ice therapy also helps (put ice on swollen area for 10-12 min remove repeat after 4-5 hrs). Take anti-inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen (Advil), Since there is no fracture it will get better. Have patience, take care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
