General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I can understand your concern. Since your husband has history of swollen knee & feet, he should maintain healthy weight. Obesity reduces blood circulation & causes swelling (retention of fluid in the legs, ankle & feet). Give him iron rich food, food rich in antioxidants (berries, fruits, organic veggies). Restrict alcohol intake & avoid addictions if any. Do not give him oily food or food too high in protein.

Let him visit ER, get him physically examined & assessed to rule out any developing Gout, RS/OA, CHF, Hypertension, hypothyroidism, etc. He will have to go through a series of tests & investigations, his treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. Neglect will result in the worsening of the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
