Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Arm After Being Stung By A Bee
Yes, thank you. My husband was stung by a bee. His hand is now swollen and is warm to the touch. He has heart trouble and needs to take antibiotics to go to the dentist. He took the antibiotic about 4 hours ago. He also soaked his hand in warm water and Epson Salts. This has not helped. Should he go to the emergency room? Years ago he had a similar problem where his hand swelled and a red line started to go up his arm. At that time we didn t know what had happened. His doctor put him in the hospital for several days and tried different meds. Finally it did go down. Should we go to the emergency room?
Yes, I would suggest you to go to the emergency room. Antihistamines and steroid injections are essential at this point of time more than an antibiotic in order to reduce the allergic reaction and also prevent any fatal anaphylaxis. Throat pain, difficulty in swallowing / breathing, facial swelling should be treated immediately with adrenaline.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
