Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. Dont worry about your swelling, black eye, it will subside. The blackening of eye and swelling around eye occurred due to gravity dependent drainage of blood and reactionary fluid in periorbital tissue.

To fasten the recovery, you should

- keep your head elevated even while sleeping.

- Apply icepacks at swelling site. Apply daily for at least 4-6 times.

- Take anti-inflammatory medication with enzymes like combination of diclofenac with serratiopeptidase, after proper prescription.

- Don't tie anything tight around your forehead. It can increase swelling around eyes.

The resolution of dark pigmentation is thumb rule. Don't worry about it. If swelling and discolouration persist even after two weeks, consult neurosurgeon for chronic hematoma. Chronic hematoma might need surgical evacuation.

Hope it will help you. If still in doubt, do let me know.
Thanks. Take care.
