Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I thought I had an allergic reaction a couple days ago because my lips and under one eye swelled up, didn't think too much of it until then I started developing bumps under my eye and around my mouth and lower cheeks. Took benadryl and the swelling went down but the bumps kept on spreading. Now the bumps are oozing yellow pus. I'm not familiar with allergic reactions but I have had cold sores (only on my lips) throughout my life. Is this herpes on my face?
Swelling on lips and eye as per your query seems like Angioedema initially now as you have pus and fluid filled blisters now on you face and around lips its because of herpes simplex virus infection as it attacks once immunity of body is poor.
I would suggest you to visit dermatologist or dentist once and get it examined properly. Go for biopsy test by taking sample from fluid filled blisters and get it diagnosed properly.
Apply Zovirax a popular antiviral eye ointment on these blisters. If infection around only cornea then debridement can be done . Antiviral and steroid eye drops combination is very effective for subsiding lesions.
Apply lip balm to keep it moisturized always. Apply dologel on fluid filler blisters. Ice pack will give immediate effects. Take multivitamin tablet rich in vitamin B12.
Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
