Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have swollen eye sclera at the right side and using a drop maxidex (0.001%) which removed redness but swellen still in there. I saw again the samething in my left eyes left part of eye white part. What is this exactly? What are the treatment? I am wearing -2.75 power glass for right eye adn -2.50 for left eye
Swelling on sclera (what we call scleritis) is a severe inflammation / infection of the white part of the eye. It is often associated with severe autoimmune disease. So, I think you should get rechecked by ophthalmologist and discuss with him/her to start oral medications to suppress immune system and reduce inflammation. We consider it as emergency in ophthalmology, that's why I highly recommend to get rechecked now, as soon as you can.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
