Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Arm

My husband got a honey locus thorn stuck deep into his hand. It got really swollen and he went to the doctor and they gave him antibiotic shot, antibiotics, and steroids. The infection went up his arm and he went back to doctor and they gave him 2 more shots. Then is spread to his elbow. He was then a. admitted into the hospital for 4 days of IV antibiotics and released. He never ran fever but he is still having serious pain in his arm and can not straighten his elbow. He had a MRI and there was no infection in his bone or tendon. Is this normal for him to still be in this much pain?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be an inflammatory pain.

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
