Hello,
I can understand your concern? Is the swelling painful or symptomless? Is it soft or hard in consistency?
If the swelling is painful, it could an
abscess due to infection in the eye or area above the eye and without treatment it is increasing in size. In that case, you may treatment with
drainage of the abscess at physician's clinic and antibiotic coverage afterwards to control the infection.
If the swelling is painless, it could be an
allergic reaction that can be controlled with antihistamine such as Levocetrizine 5 mg (Levocet) or
Loratidine 10 mg (Lorfast). You may need
steroids too to control the reaction.
I recommend that you should visit a physician or oral & maxillofacial surgeon for clinical examination as location, size, consistency, symptoms etc. play a role in the diagnosis and treatment of such swellings. You may need to go for blood tests and xray too.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
