Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Knee Post Injury

I fell hard on my knee outside and it hurts a lot. I ve swelling around my knee. pin and needles going from below my knee to my foot. I ve a bruise around my knee. I can walk but it hurts. Can t put much weight on knee when going up the stairs though. Would this just be a sprain?

avoid punting weight to knee. take kneecap and apply analgesic ointment externally.take x-ray and consult orthopedic surgeon for examination and advice on treatment.
