Suggest Treatment For Swelling, Redness And Itching On The Ankles
on the 8th i was stung by yellowjackets on both ankles, there was some mild redness and itching and just a bit of swelling and then the 9th i woke up and both ankles were more red and swollen than the first day, then today it was a lot more swollen and red and itchy. I m suspecting that i may have secondary bacterial cellulitis, a bit ago i had body chills and about 30 mins later i was over heating. my aunt took my temp and it was normal but she said my forehead felt hot. my question is do i need to go to the emergency room or can i go in the morning? also I ve been taking antihistamines and using hydrocortisone and aloe with lidacain and an anti itch benydril spray but none seem to make the itching fully go away
Since you are already taking antihistamines, benadryl & hydrocortisone & you have no relieve, you are suggested to visit ER, at the earliest. You need urgent medical attention, it looks like the infection is spreading into the blood stream.
You need antibiotics, analgesics & intravenous fluids to control the infection. Cellulitis when neglected can be life threatening. Get admitted & treated at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
