Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, i have swimmers ear.. And i was using eardrops and that didnt help so i went to my doctor and they gave me pills to take for it It still hurts and i got no sleep for the past 2 days because it hurts so bad.. Ive tried everything, what do i do??
Noted your short history about swimmers ears, drops, medicines but the pain is severe enough not allowing to sleep. This indicates that the infection is too much, and the fungus is growing inside and there may be a secondary infection. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult an ENT Surgeon for proper diagnosis by doing endoscopy of ears. Get started on proper antibiotic, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory medications. Painkillers separately may be required. Do not go for swimming. Avoid contact of ears with water. Cleaning or suctioning done by an ENT Surgeon will help you further.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
