Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My abdomen is very swollen, I had a tummy tuck almost 1.5 years ago and the swelling does not come down. The dr tells me it is visceral fat because it is hard but when I lay down it is jiggly inside. I do take Losartan Potassium 25 mg and would like to know if it has to do with high blood pressure and meds or could it be visceral fat?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Levothyroxine is a thyroid medicine that replaces a hormone normally produced by your thyroid gland to regulate the body's energy and metabolism.
As per your query is concerned to check your blood pressure and take medications as advised by your treating family doctor. Do not stop blood pressure medications without your doctor’s consult. Do a clinical examination by a cardiologist in your area and do following investigations like chest x-ray, ECG, ECHO, and coronary angiogram. Your main problem is due to heart failure as you have past history of high blood pressure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
