Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently was diagnosed with a sprained ankle but since then the bruising and swelling on my shin continues to get worse. The skin is discolored and hurts to touch. It is uncomfortable to walk and my big toe feels numb. Is it possible that I have a shin contusion? Is a numb toe common with a shin contusion?
Hello, I have studied your case and I think that you pain and numbness is due to stretching of nerves in the injury. It is not uncommon and you need not to worry about this. I would suggest you to follow these steps. 1.Hot water fomentation 2.volitran ointment 3.Compression bandage I hope these steps will be helpful for you.let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
