Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Ankle

I had a fall 2 an half weeks ago. Platform shoes stepped on hose and my right foot fell outward. The ankle swelled up immediately and I began icing. The swelling has gone down but the top of my foot, ankle, and heal are black and blue. The inside of my ankle is no longer discolored. I ve had it in an ankle air cast and keep it wrapped lightly around the foot and ankle area, it makes it easier to sleep. I m on crutches as its to painfull to put any weight on it. I can move my toes a little bit but they are always numb and I keep my foot elevated most all the time. Is this normal and should it be so painfull?

What about the X-Ray? Kindly rule out Fracture/Dislocation by getting an X-Ray done under supervision of an orthopaedic surgeon. You may require a cast to immobilize the joints proximal and distal to the injury. Some fracture/dislocations at ankles may also require surgery. Pain, swelling, tenderness and distal numbness after two and a half weeks of injury is definitely not normal.
