my elbow started to swell up after it got hit . it never hurt but in the last two weeks its gotten real big. my wife is diabetic i used one of her seringes to drain it it came out light yellow ,not thick but almost like water what do you think it is ? should i go to dr or should it disapate by its self, remeber their is no pain.
Elbow, its part of the joint that connect two bones un your body. This joint are surrounded and cushioned by soft tissues. Swelling occurs when fluid accumulates un these tissues. While joint swelling can be a symptom of a chronic condición (artritis, gout) it can also be a sign of an injury that REQUIRES MEDICAL ATTENTION. Never punction a joint, you can cause a septic artritis and this is a result of an infección caused by a bacteria or a fungus.Chek your body temperature if is elevated. Other causes imclude bone fracture, torn ligament or tendon Don try to treat this problem by yourself, you need a PHYSICAL INSPECTION. Your doctor may then order some tests to determine the CAUSE of your joint swelling. If you dont have a pain, have a worst prognosis. Are you DIABÉTIC.????. Treat the CAUSE not only the SYMPTOM.
SINCERLY. DR. ALEX MARTINEZ M.D.
