Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
One morning my gum flap was very swollen and painful, through out the day it popped draining a salty liquid. No foul taste nor odor. Now the 2 teeth next to it are aching from the inside i feel and from the inner gum side they are tender as well. Can you tell mewat could this possibly be? And how bad it is.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swollen and painful gums which could be due to infection in oral cavity and it seems to be due to poor oral hygiene. Sometimes calculus keeps on accumulating and leads to swollen and painful gums leading to gingivitis and if not treated an progress to periodontitis.
Need not to worry about it. You should drink plenty of fluids and maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing daily. Take antimicrobial mouthwash rinses such as listerine. Take antibiotic such as Azithromycin to prevent further infection. Visit periodontist once and get it examined and go for scaling and root planing of gums. Avoid taking sticky food such as chocolates, toffees.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
