Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My right knee is swollen and is very warm to the touch and has been for several weeks. It is getting worse and pain is increasing. I can not bend it and it feels like it is going to give away when I walk on it. I have RA, but have never had a problem with the knees. I can feel fluid on the outer side and in the back. It is swollen about 3 inches above the knee. I have tried ice and heat and aleeve for almost a week, and nothing is making the swelling go down. It is not quite as swollen when I wake up, but within an hour or so, it starts swelling again. Please advise me on what to do. I recently had shoulder surgery on my rotator cuff. Dont know if that has a bearing on this or not.
